Concerns about sustainability and the impact of plastics have led to an increased demand for ecologically sound fabrics. Environmental awareness is at an all-time high thanks to ongoing scientific research coupled with the explosion of climate change coverage in the media.
Because of all of these factors, all FR-One fabrics meet very high standards.
Let’s look at what our three main standards of excellence are: the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, the EU’s REACH regulation, and our ISO 9001 certification.
Since 1992, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been a globally standardised, independent mark of quality for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products from all stages of production and for all accessory materials used in the process.
This global certification system assures manufacturers, sourcers, brands, retailers, and consumers around the world that certified products meet the strict limit values for harmful substances of STANDARD 100 and that these substances are not present in critical concentrations. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 covers a wide array of several hundred harmful substances.
All FR-One fabrics also comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), a regulation of the European Union that was adopted in 2007 to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
An offshoot of the REACH regulation is that it also ardently promotes alternative methods for assessing chemical hazards in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.
FR-One is an ISO 9001 certified organization, which means that we will always ensure that our products and services consistently meet our customers’ requirements, and that quality is consistently improved.
We are constantly campaigning to encourage our suppliers to reach ISO 14001 certification, guaranteeing accountable environmental responsibility.
We’re excited to announce that our 2020 fabric range will feature a lot of environmental-friendly collections which contain recycled polyester yarns. Stay tuned, for more!
Also, as part of our commitment to sustainability, we have created our very own FR-One forest of 6,700 trees in an area close to our office space, as part of our own unique approach to helping the environment.
