A burner flame is applied to a vertically oriented textile fabric to determine the flame propagation.
The test is performed in a test cabinet. A test sample is hung in this cabinet with a pin bar and exposed to a flame. The after flame of the test material and the burning time of the material that falls to the bottom of the cabinet are measured. The weight loss is also measured.
The test material passes or fails the test. To pass, both the weight loss and the burn time have to be limited.
